Dødstallet stiger til 282
I alt 282 mennesker blev dræbt og 3.059 såret i 2.872 trafikulykker over seks dage i " de syv farlige dage" af Songkran ferie, rapporterede katastrofeforebyggelse og Mitigation Departmentrapporterede tirsdag.
Antallet af dræbte er steget med 53 i forhold til sidste år, mens de skadede er faldet med 113 fra sidste år udtaler Chatpong Chatphute, vicegeneraldirektør i afdelingen.
Den 16. april var der 291 trafikulykker og dræbte 27 mennesker.
Spirituskørsel og for høj fart var de vigtigste årsager til trafikulykker.
Afdelingen rapporterede mandag dødstallet til 253.

A total of 320 people were killed in 3,129 road accidents over the “seven dangerous days” of the Songkran holiday, from April 11 to 17, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported on Wednesday.
The fatalities were up from 271 last year by 49.
A total of 3,320 people were reported injured in road accidents during the seven days, a drop from the 3,476 injured reported last year,
