This is the Thai Airways street food stand outside the catering office in Bangkok. Whether or not 'Pa Tong Go' fried dough can save the airline from decline is anyone's guess... but there's no denying how popular the 50 Baht sets are with locals.
The stand opens at 6am every day and there are long queues stretching round the block. They're sold out by 8am.
Thai Airways - which staved off bankruptcy after a court approved a debt rehabilitation plan this month - claims it generates 400,000 baht (10,000GBP) a day, or 10m baht (250,000GBP) a month from the stall.
Airline acting president Chansin Treenuchagorn said they're also considering more stalls and franchises.
They're gonna need a few more stalls before the Pa Tong Go plugs the 300 million black hole they lost in 2019... which was before the pandemic hit
