Alien: Earth
Der er plads til både blodig underholdning og store tanker om menneskelivet, når de grusomme rummonstre fra Ridley Scotts filmserie lander på en mareridtsdystopisk udgave af Jorden.
Handlingen udspiller sig små hundrede år ude i fremtiden. Jorden styres af fem gigantiske techgiganter, som primært konkurrerer om, hvem der først knækker koden til udødelighed.
Prodigy er det femte og nyeste firma og ledes af det unge, kyniske geni Boy Kavalier. Han arbejder med en banebrydende teknik, hvor menneskers bevidsthed overføres til en kunstig krop og skaber en såkaldt hybrid.
Thailand rider på bølgen af Alien: Earth
Thailand høster store gevinster fra den internationale sci-fi-serie Alien: Earth, som netop har haft premiere på Disney+. Serien blev optaget i syv thailandske provinser – blandt andre Bangkok, Krabi og Prachuap Khiri Khan – og markerer den største udenlandske filmproduktion i landets historie med et budget på over 2,8 milliarder baht.
Produktionen skabte næsten 25.000 lokale job og har sat Thailand på verdenskortet som attraktivt film- og turistmål. Myndighederne forventer, at interessen for seriens optagesteder vil tiltrække flere udenlandske besøgende, ligesom Krabi allerede har oplevet et markant løft i turismen efter tidligere Hollywood-optagelser.
Regeringen ser Alien: Earth som en vigtig brik i strategien om at gøre Thailand til et internationalt centrum for filmproduktion og skærper samtidig sine incitamenter med nye kontanttilskud til udenlandske filmselskaber.
