The Godfather of Thailand's sex industry is a pimp turned politician. Vice King Chuwit Kamolvisit is running for governor of Bangkok on an anti-corruption ticket, but his own background is far from clean. He has hawked 20,000 illegal prostitutes, evading prison through generous bribes. Chuwit claims his girls offer massage not sex, so his business is legal. 'Of course they have sex' says one of his club managers. But when the police finally threw him in jail Chuwit decided to expose them. Kavi Chongkittavorn of the Nation paper, which named Chuwit 'Man of the Year' says 'He's portrayed himself as victim, but he's a crook who's turning into a crusader'. It may be Chuwit's own crusade to stay out of prison, but he offers a first-hand insight into corruption at every level
