Koh Phangan district officials have announced the Full Moon party scheduled for October has been cancelled as a mark of respect as Thailand prepares for the funeral of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

All entertainment activities throughout the month of October have been suspended, however, bars can continue to sell food and drinks to customers.

Any venues on the island found to be flouting this order will face legal action and all will be strictly monitored during this period.
