What facilities are provided in Sanam Luang?
Sanam Luang is packed with mourners every day as they queued to pay respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Volunteers and organisations set up facilities to cater to the visiting mourners

Transportation Information to Sanam Luang
With the crowds of mourners queuing all day to pay respects to King Bhumibol Adulyadej, getting to Sanam Luang is pretty difficult. Here are some information on how you can get to the Grand Palace. Remember though, you're only allowed to pay respects between 8:30 am to 4 pm, and the queue is usually very long.

HUGE TURNOUT FOR MASS SINGING TRIBUTE TO KING BHUMIBOL
BANGKOK — By boat, bus car and foot they have come to assemble in the tens of thousands Saturday outside the Grand Palace in Bangkok to join a tribute singing the royal anthem to His Majesty the Late King.
The performance, accompanied by the Siam Philharmonic, Siam Sinfonietta and a 100-member choir in singing the anthem conducted by composer Somtow Sucharitkul.
The mass performance is being filmed by director Chatri Chalerm Yukol for a film to be shown in theaters and on television. Roads have been closed around the palace area due to the influx of people.

FOR NATION IN MOURNING, ALL ROADS LEAD TO SANAM LUANG
ANGKOK — After a few frustrated days at home, Phrom Onsri packed some clothes into a backpack Monday, grabbed a large umbrella and camping tent, then swung by his local pharmacist.
As he stocked up on medication for his heart condition, the 74-year-old farmer from Uthai Thani province told the pharmacist what he had yet to reveal to his daughter: he would hit the road to travel 250 kilometers to the Grand Palace to pay tribute to His Majesty the Late King.

Where did all 177,000 people stand?
At 1pm on October 22, the Internal Security Operations Command estimated a total of 177,000 people gathered at Sanam Luang to sing the Royal Anthem. But Sanam Luang has a capacity of 80,000 people, so how did everyone else manage to fit?

The Royal Anthem film was based on the huge turnout on October 22nd when hundreds of thousands of people gathered to sing the Royal Anthem in Sanam Luang. The film was created by a prominent director Prince Chatrichalerm Yukol and his team.
