Seven men are getting wide praise from the public after a video showing them rushing to rescue a woman trapped in a submerging car spread quickly on the internet.
The video clip shows the men working together to get the woman out of the vehicle, which is rapidly filling with water.
Facebook user Samsib Singha first posted the video, which he titled "Thai people don't abandon each other". He wrote that the car plunged into the water-filled roadside ditch in Ayutthaya. Some of the seven men who rushed to help did not even stop to remove their wallets and cell phones, which were badly damaged by the water.
"One of the rescuers told me that a person's life is more important than his belongings," Samsib Singha wrote. "Another rescuer said his car key, which was lost in the ditch, was worth 20,000 baht, but he laughed it off."
As the video spread in social media, netizens heaped praise on the "seven strong men", saying there are still good people in the country.
