An explosive device was thrown at the Sukhumvit Soi 31 housing compound of Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva shortly before midnight on Tuesday, but no one was injured.
The blast damaged the roof and shattered windows of a house belongs to Mr Abhisit’s father, Athasit who shares the compound with him.
Mr Abhisit and his family were not at home at the time.
Further investigation into the bombing is still under way.
