Mr. Nattapon Nattasomboon, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) has warned producers of Solar Rooftop energy for sale to obtain a license for the purpose in line with Section 31 of the Factories Act B.E. 2535 (1992).
The law stipulates that any factory whose operation is related to the public must obtain an official permit for the sake of public safety as well as for efficiency and convenience. Mr. Nattapon said that in case a problem arises with the solar cell or if the solar cell is out of use, factory operators must strictly apply proper measures in getting rid of such electronic devices. Installation of solar farms of no larger than 1 Megawatt (MW) also requires a permit.
And in order to facilitate energy entrepreneurs to get necessary permits within the timeframe specified by the Energy Ministry, the DIW has set up a One Stop Service center to provide a fast-track procedure for that purpose.
