A 65-year-old German man repeatedly stabbed a Golden Retriever and killed the animal, after the Retriever again attacked his pet Rottweiler as they were walking in the village neighborhood. The Retriever owners rushed to help their dog, but were almost stabbed too.

SATTAHIP – November 12, 2012 [PDN]; at 2 p.m., a report of a dog being stabbed to death by a foreigner was received by Pol. Lt. Narate Boonthee, investigation officer, Sattahip police station. Notifying the police was Mrs. La-or Janpen, age 50, Sattahip village chief Moo 9.

The incident occurred at the joss house in Nawee House 19 village Moo 9 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province.

At the scene, police found the dog’s body lying in a pool of blood behind the joss house. The dead dog was a brown Golden Retriever named Choky, a 2-year-old male. It had been stabbed 17 times with wounds all over its body. There were bloodstains on the joss house and the nearby wall.

The dog was owned by a couple, identified as Petty Officer First Class Kamphol Nualsil, age 43, with the center for training new sailors at the Naval Education Department; and his wife, Mrs. Vilawan Nualsil, age 42. The couple was sitting and crying while touching the dog’s head in great sorrow.

The trouble maker was identified as Mr. Alfred Gatt, age 65, nationality German, address 222/22 in the same village as the Nualsils. After Mr. Gatt made trouble and killed the dog, he drove his car out of his house, and left only his slippers that came off his feet at the incident for evidence.

During questioning by police, Mrs. Vilawan said that she and her husband have fed Choky since it was only 1 month old. Choky was a funny and clever dog, and not a fierce dog, until last month, when the German old man took his male Rottweiler dog walking in front of their house. At that time Choky was running around in front of the house, so both dogs began fighting and biting each other. Ever since that incident, whenever the German man took his Rottweiler to walk in the village, he carried a short knife with him every time.

At the time of their dog’s stabbing, Mrs. Vilawan and her husband were watching television in the house. Then they heard the sound of Choky crying with a loud noise, coming from the joss house in front of their house. So they rushed out to check, and saw that the German man was using his short knife to stab Choky cruelly. She and her husband and a neighbor tried to assist their dog, but the German man tried to stab everyone that came close to him. He looked like a madman, so no one dared to help, and only just stood to see Choky die in front of them.

Pol. Lt. Narate Boonthee said he invited the victims and witnesses to give further testimony at the Sattahip police station, and made daily notes for evidence. The trouble maker has asked to be investigated later, he said.

Initially, the police are accusing the dog killer of causing other people to lose their property. As for the cause of this incident, police assumed that the motive came from his personal revenge — because his dog was bitten, he stabbed the victim’s dog until it died.

Jamen tyskere er vant til at slagte hunde. Det gjorde de også under krigen til "Gullash-kanonerne".%/(/
