Alleged cop attacks bikers
The incident took place in Soi Kannikar on Rama 3 Road, where several police officers gathered to search bikers for drugs and fine those who did not wear safety helmets.
A man in plain clothes, thought to be a police officer, attempted to stop two motorcycles by kicking at them. The first motorcycle managed to get away but the second over balanced and fell to the ground.
Two people on the second motorcycle fell off and one of them, a woman, injured her leg, according to a message posted by the clip uploader.
A police officer then came to inspect the two bikers as they were gathering themselves from the fall.
According to the uploader, he was driving a car behind the motorcycle. He later rolled down his car window and asked the officer who was holding a ticket book, "Why are you doing this to the public?"
"Well, I didn't kick you," the officer replied.
The driver then told the plain clothes officer that he had a camera and was recording the incident. The man did not respond and told him to leave the scene immediately without searching him.
An ambulance was seen at the scene about 10 minutes later, according to the message on the VDO clip.
Many Thai netizens posted messages, criticising the police for acting violently against the public, while others said the motorcyclists should not have tried to avoid police inspection in the first place.
