The Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok was eerily quiet today. Just a handful of Thai domestic travellers or those heading overseas to countries that allow arrivals were using the airport arrivals entrance hall. There were virtually no check-in desks open and limited airport staff.

It's astonishing how different this was to Suvarnabhumi at the start of the year before the pandemic. It's going to take many months before BKK airport which serves international flights will pick up again.
