Residents of Thailand’s Phetchaburi city are expecting devastating floods at around ten PM tonight, after a massive amount of water was released from a major reservoir into the Phetchaburi River to reduce pressure on the dam. The release has already flooded the well-known Kaeng Krachan National Park, forcing it to close for tourist safety. A small town near the park is now also cut off by the flood, affecting more than two hundred families. Over two thousand police officers are on their way to help the military to prepare for rescue operations as the Irrigation Department warns of significant additional rainfall over the next two days.
